wishing

I'm an avid believer of living in the moment, the here and now, but after stumbling across this lovely lady, I just couldn't help but let my built up excitement for cooler weather escape my subconscious. (holy commas, sorry.) Studded loafers, faux fur, black, perfection.

P.S. This is my first and last post regarding later seasons. Just had to get it out. Back to denim cutoffs and peplum tanks.

black and white

Recently I wrote a fashion column for my school paper The Crimson White and I thought I'd share the basics with you kind bloggin' folks. I'm sure you are all aware, but black and white is back. Not that it ever went away...Chanel people, Chanel. But, I personally think black and white basics are great "back to school" essentials.
In my younger years of Lisa Frank and the third grade I looked forward to the day mom would take me school shopping for some new legging/tunic sets and sketchers. Cue embarrassing, awkward, cross-eyed picture from my childhood.
One word. Glam. Anyways. I know it may seem early for back to school but the fashion world waits for noone. Not even the tween in neon cutoffs that could be mistaken for denim underwear and a "grungy/cute" crop top from Urban.
You get it, black and white head to toe, it makes a statement with little effort from the wearer and less clothes on the floor in the getting ready process.

Thanks, Becky for being my model, so photogenic. Be sure to check out collegefashionista next week for a little one on one with Becky and her art/fashion passion.

if perfection were a picture and style had a name..

Thank you, Scott Schuman for your wonderful contribution of travel and style to the the internet. Your  ability to capture an outfit in tandem with the wearers' personality and surroundings is genius. A mundane moment on a tuesday is transformed into one of my own daily thoughts. I see what he sees. The subject is made real.

Thank you, unidentified fashionista for your daring sense of style and blue shoe-laces.

Thank, you caddy ladies in the background for reminding me that an upturned nose and an unkind passing judgement looks ugly on everyone.

commence complaining

It is really too hot to wear anything but a swimsuit these days. Jewerly makes my neck sweat and cotton is the only acceptable fabric. Forget trends. Tuscaloosa, Ala, where temperatures excede 100F on a daily basis and the humidity swallows you whole.
