the vest and a sad sad story

This is my perfect go-to-class ensemble. Black skinnies, chunky knit, and a studded army vest to add a touch of  Eliza Thornberry to my otherwise intrinsic cold-weather pieces. All I'm missing is some boisterous red hair and a monkey sidekick.
This vest was last seen on my birthday wish list post. I imagined its presence atop every fall sweater combination and it certainly did not disappoint. I have worn this River Island gem over cocktail dresses and cozy knits alike. There is just something about it's edgy ardor that flatters all of my favorite fall pieces. (Thanks, Aunt Trish!)
The boots were an afterthought, motivated by the mid-morning rainstorm. I think they decorate this otherwise neutral ensemble quite nicely.

I try not to add too much of my personal life to this pint-sized fashion microcosm, but this day is different. Saturday was a sad day in Tuscaloosa, the Roll Tide dynasty was shattered. We lost. Some cried. My voice is gone and so is our chance at another national title. It was fun while it lasted.  Here is a little slice of campus, my favorite spot, right next to work and our monstrosity of a stadium. Roll Tide.
