#fall

The first day of classes happened. Fashion week came and went. (I wasn't there...again.) I wrote an article about UA sororities still being segregated and got to be on CNN. And now you're caught up with my life.

This fall I predict my style habits won't change all too much. I'll stick with my love of leather and punchy lipsticks and continue to sport my collection of kitschy prints and collegiate collars. I did buy a pair of white Converse to reward myself for making national news. So that's a new thing. I just don't feel bad bragging because this is most likely a once in a lifetime deal.(I obviously felt a little bit bad hence me justifying the brag.)

I do admit, I'm one of those fall-obsessed-girls who can't wait to wrap herself in copious amounts of unnecessarily floppy, cowl-neck sweaters and sip hot overpriced drinks that smell like artificial spicy-pumpkin-ish while swaddled in a mustard colored throw. I'm that girl that brought pumpkin candy to the office on the first day of autumn. I am the glasses-wearing, fall frenzied, pumpkin fanatic that so annoyingly engulfs the Internet August to December. I'm sorry. This is me repaying you...a bookish look that doesn't reveal an inkling of the season. After this, I can't promise anything. Be prepared for ribbed knits and cords.

The past couple of months have been a fun little style experiment. Many days, I let go of my over-accessorized looks, once bathed in polka-dots and bangles, and stick with the basics. Let's be real, I don't have a Phillip Lim bag and I probably won't ever have a Phillip Lim bag. But, for example's sake, here is a modest representation of my usual go-to-class uniform when creativity is lacking and the cold weather isn't.
1. Black skinnies have been the pants at the top of my drawer and never at the bottom of my laundry hamper. Black jeans can go days without washing, right?
2/3. Oversized sweater and collared shirt combo. You can never go wrong.
4. Just a little somethin' somethin' to feel feminine when I'm draping my self with balloon-ish proportions and colors evaporate from my wardrobe.
5. An oversized tote is a perfect substitute to my Jansport circa 4th grade. It's big enough for laptop/binder/camera and leaves a substantial indention on my right shoulder.
6/7. Dainty jewelry seems to work well with knits and doesn't get caught in the weaving. Plus, I like them.
8. I think my H&M black booties have been my most worn shoe this winter. The heel is the perfect height for traipsing around campus and clacking on tile floors. I love clacking.
9. I understand beanies are "a thing", but pom-poms are my thing. When walking with an added bounce on top of my head, it seems to balance out my grown-up minimalist look of black on black on white.

Today is a monumental day in the fall weather progression. I did not sweat on my walk to class. I am celebrating by posting a pretend fall ensemble that I wish I could wear today. My birthday is coming up, consider it my list.

1. 3.1 Phillip Lim transparent clutch
3. Alice + Olivia box pleat leather skirt
4. Minor Obsessions gold star pendant necklace (really any delicate gold pendant necklace will do)
5. American Apparel Book Sunglasses
7. Khaki Studded Army Gilet

Have a wonderful monday!
